¨ Are you a college student or young adult who is working, who either lives with a chronic illness, has experience with chronic illness, or has an interest in chronic illness?
¨ Do you go to school close to Hasbro Children’s Hospital?
¨ Are you interested in using your experiences to help teenagers who also live with chronic illness?
If you answered yes to these questions, become a TALC mentor!
We are always looking for new mentors. In the past we have had students from Brown University, RISD, Providence College, University of Rhode Island, Community Colleges of Rhode Island and New England Technical Institute. Don’t worry if your school isn’t on this list - we are always looking to expand to other schools, and as long as you can make it for the training and our monthly meetings we’d be happy to have you. TALC requires a commitment of approximately 10 hours a month - 1 mentor planning meeting, 1 TALC monthly council meeting, and some months a TALC social event.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill out our Mentor Application and contact Jodie Neukirch, TALC Program Manager, at (401) 444-7563 or TALCProgram@gmail.com
Feel free to visit our “What We’ve Done” and “Interested in Joining” pages to get a better idea of the mission of TALC and what our members think about the program.
